The Matrimonial Home is a Special Property

Matrimonial Home is where the married couple live.

There can be more than one Matrimonial Home.

  • Home in the City.
  • Cottage Winter Vacation Home Ski Chalet

The Matrimonial Home on a division of Net Family Property is treated differently. If one spouse ownes one on marriage it will become the Family Home (the Matrimonial Home). The Full Equity in it at the time of marriage is included in a division of Net Family Property.
